My name is Shawn and I am a huge fan of the NHL and the Toronto Maple Leafs. My favourite player on the Leafs is Luke Schenn and Dion Phaneuf, my favourite player in the league is Sidney Crosby! I play defence and I give my 110% every game, I'll even sacrifice my body to make sure they don't score! The player I want to be just like is Nick Lidstrom, he is one the greatest captains in the history of the NHL, and I hope I can accomplish what he has done in his career! When my team goes out and plays we don't always win but we always give it our all. We came in 6th in the league and we where eliminated in the playoffs in our third and final game. We knew that we where going to be eliminated, but we went out and beat the 3rd place team 7-2! Every time we are on an out of town tournament, we always turn on Hockey Night In Canada! My favourite part of Hockey Night In Canada is Coaches Corner! I love to watch Don Cherry! He always knows what he is talking about and I find it very entertaining to watch Don and Ron Mclean argue. It would be a honour for a legend of the great game of hockey, like Mark Messier, to bring the Stanley Cup to my home town of Rayside Balfour, and one day I hope that I can have the honour to lift the Stanley Cup after hard work and dedication just like Mark Messier has done!
